Welcome to THE CHOPPING BLOCK!

THE AFFLUENT FREAK has locked 3–8 hostages in his dungeon called THE CHOPPING BLOCK for a twisted social experiment.

Players will take turns building a character by drawing Truth and Secret cards—information THE AFFLUENT FREAK has gathered about his hostages and is forcing them to reveal. Players must defend what they draw and persuade the group why they are either the most virtuous or the most vile among them. Those two will be set free.

Everyone else gets CHOPPED.

In the end, THE AFFLUENT FREAK doesn’t care who survives. He just wants to see what makes his hostages tick. Get ready to plead your case!

Setup

1. Place THE AFFLUENT FREAK card nearby. He's always watching.

2. Separate the Green Truth Cards and the Black Secret Cards into two face-down decks. Shuffle both decks.

3. Choose one player to be the timer keeper (ideally the most phone-savvy).

4. Figure out who the freakiest player is. They’ll go first.

Gameplay

1. Round One

1. The time keeper starts a 90-second timer on their phone.

2. The player whose turn it is draws a Truth card, explains what’s on it, adding whatever details they want. They then draw a Secret card and explain what’s on that. Do NOT draw both cards at once.

On a player's turn, they will:

—Build a character using both revelations—
—Justify their personality or actions to prove that they are either vile or virtuous—
—At some point, read each card exactly as written—
—Eventually, leave both cards face-up in front of them—
—Answer questions from other players—

3. When the timer ends, this player's turn is over. Reset the timer, and the next player begins.

An example turn might look like this:

**Player draws a Truth Card that says ‘Game Show Host’**

They say, “So, you all might know me. I host a really popular show called Affluent Feud. It’s number one in its afternoon time slot! I’m a ‘Game Show Host.’”

**Player shows everyone the card and puts it down in front of them. They then draw a Secret Card that says ‘Kidnaps Pets.’**

They say, “But, I have a secret. Sometimes my contestants bring their pets to the show. They always say they’ll behave. They never do. So, I have my crew take their pets to an undisclosed location. I guess I technically ‘Kidnap Pets’ but it’s for a good reason!”

**Players shows everyone the card and puts it down. The other players can ask follow up questions until the timer runs out.**

2. First Round Debate

Once every player has completed one turn, start a timed 2-minute open debate where:

—Players may ask further questions—
—Players may defend or expand their stories—
—Players may continue pleading their case on why they’re the most vile or virtuous—

3. Second Round

1. Each player takes another turn in the same format, adding to the story they’ve already created:

—Draw 1 Truth card—
—Draw 1 Secret card—
—Expand their character further—
—Answer questions—

2. Another 2-minute open discussion follows.

4. Voting

1. After the debate, all players first vote for the most virtuous. Everyone raises their arms, counts down from 3, and points to the player they believe is most virtuous. You can’t vote for yourself. This player will freely escape THE CHOPPING BLOCK.

2. Repeat the same voting process for the most vile. The most virtuous can still vote and be voted for. You still can’t vote for yourself. The most vile leaves THE CHOPPING BLOCK but becomes the AFFLUENT FREAK’s evil servant (a fate worse than death).

3. If there is a tie, immediately revote. If you are still tied after a revote, everyone remains in THE CHOPPING BLOCK.

4. After both survivors are chosen, any remaining players are CHOPPED.

 Final Note

In the end, the AFFLUENT FREAK just wants a laugh. Adjust timer lengths, or add more rounds. Have fun and don’t stress. After all, it’s just your life on the line.
